New website coming soon

Wow, it's been a while since we've updated.  Sorry about that folks! I hope you'll be pleased to know that we're working on a new short film, "Once Upon a Time in 1977," that should be released this spring.  We're going to be releasing our entire 1970s scifi series online at that time. We're also going to be getting a new website up soon, so stay posted!  And to keep up with the latest news on 1977 and other KVL news, be sure to follow us on Facebook. Also, if you're coming to C2E2 in Chicago, you can find us at booth 237!

Gen Con Indy Event Schedule

Slightly late update: Chicago Comic Con was great - thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat and/or pick up some DVDs/stickers/shirts.

[caption id="attachment_345" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Always great to go to cons and not be the strangest thing in the room haha."]Robot POV BEEP BOOP[/caption] We'll be at Gen Con Indy (sans robot) starting Friday! Here is our schedule: Chris will be moderating the 3pm Directing for Film and Series panel and on the 4pm Film Pre-Production panel today in Westin. Once Upon a Time in 1972 is screening at 8:00 with a block of webseries episodes tonight at the Westin Grand Ballroom V. Chris will be moderating the 2pm Special Effects panel on Saturday. AND our DVDs will(should?) be at Booth 509 as a part of Zombie Orpheus Entertainment! BONUS: Check out "Upgrade" Friday night in the 10:30 pm Science Fiction/Fantasy block.  It is by Andrew Stengele and Thomas Nicol - featuring the talents of a whole mess of KVL collaborators - including Eric Sizemore and voice acting by Matt Shivers at Shivers Media.

Summer 2012 Update

Hey we are busy working on a few shorts this summer (more on that later), BUT we are going to be at a few more conventions! We will be selling in Artist Alley of the Chicago Comic Con August 9-12 at the convention center in Rosemont and, right after that, we will be in attendance/screening some of our work at Gen Con Indianapolis August 16-19 through our friends at Zombie Orpheus. We should have some great updates coming soon about the story we started with Once Upon a Time in 1972 - thanks for visiting!

KVL logo shirts

Hey guys, We're getting ready to do a re-order on our T-shirts for the upcoming con season (details to follow). We'll pick up some new "original black" ones, and I think we'll get a few brown again - are there any other color suggestions? Remember, you can always get in touch with us to pre-order a specific color and size. But we're putting the order in probably next week or so, so you'll want to contact us ASAP! As always, you can reach us through Facebook or Twitter, or at killvampirelincoln [at] gmail [dot] com.

1972 DVD Print and Weekend Sale!

"Once Upon a Time in 1972" the flamethower, I mean, the DVD! Good news everyone! We have released the limited release DVD print of our short "Once Upon a Time in 1972" AND have a super short-term discount on all merch in the store! If you caught up with us at a convention you noticed our distinct packaging - each '72 DVD is packaged in an authentic vintage 5 1/4 inch floppy diskette! [caption id="attachment_318" align="aligncenter" width="490" caption="Don't insert it into your circa mid 80's computer or Commodore 64! It's a DVD!"]Buy me![/caption] While we have a lot of special features on the disc (such as behind the scenes and blooper featurettes, other supernatural short films, and 5 (increasingly discombobulated) mass cast & crew commentaries), we know it is just a short -so we really wanted to give our supporters something unique and to turn the DVD release into more of a reclaimed materials art piece. All proceeds from the 1972 DVD will go towards continuing the whacked out science fiction fairy tale it starts. We already shot a short followup film and are in preproduction for a longer continuation. We really enjoy our characters and love making giant robots and shiny rayguns. We hope you'll consider helping us keep doing it! SPECIAL NOTE: RECALL NOTICE The reason this DVD release took so long is because we had a slight burn error on our last batch of disks. If you purchased or received a '72 DVD from us at Dragon*Con or anytime between August 16-September 18, please contact us, and we would be happy to send you a replacement! The new batch is great though. If you have ever purchased a DVD from us, in person or online, and haven't been satisfied with the burn quality, please let us know via email. EXTRA SPECIAL NOTE: 4-Day Holiday Sale in the Store! From Nov. 26 to Nov. 29 we have discounted all of our merch and DVDs AND will throw in (at least one) KVL bumper sticker with every order! Check out the store, pick something up, and support genre independent film! All proceeds go towards allowing us to continue making these crazy things.

Freeky Creek Film Fest and Drunken Zombie Fest

Happy Halloween everyone! We just screened Once Upon a Time in 1972 at the Sleepy Creek Vineyard's Freeky Creek Film Festival over the weekend, and it went over great there! We had a blast - it's one of our favorite festivals all year (they have great wine there, you guys). Also, make sure to check out the Drunken Zombie Film Festival over in Peoria - THE TRANSIENT will be screening on Saturday, November 5 at 5:26 PM. There should be a Q&A session with TRANSIENT actor Blake Stubbs! Looks like a great program over there! Maybe we'll post some pictures of our Halloween costumes in the next few days, so check back soon! -Anne
